| Hands-On
Math I simulates the use of six manipulative devices: Number Bars, Number
Tiles, Place Value Tokens, Geoboard and Tangrams. For each device
a Playground provides the child with the opportunity to freely explore and
discover important mathematical concepts, while the Exercises reinforce
essential concepts. Children learn number concepts, basic operations, fractions
and many other math concepts by moving objects on the screen. Teachers can
use the program to present mathematical ideas in a structured way by following
the lessons suggested in the manual. |
| Playgrounds
provide students with an open environment to explore different manipulatives
and mathematical concepts.
Exercises
provide the structure that students need to reinforce concepts learned
in a Playground. Students and teachers may choose from different
ability levels to ensure appropriate difficulty.
